Santa Clara Measures A & B Pro and Con Forum. The City Council of the City of Santa Clara in June of 2007 approved the Santa Clara Gardens project to develop the 17 acre plot of open space at 90 North Winchester Blvd. which is owned by the State of California and known as the BAREC site.

The subject of Measures A is the General Plan amendment for the Santa Clara Gardens project and the subject of Measure B is the granting of a Density Bonus for the Senior Housing Project element of the Santa Clara Gardens project. Detailed information on Measures A & B is on http://www.smartvoter.org.

Opponents desire the open space to be used in a different manner than the council approved.

The forum will include speakers with arguments for the Measures and against the Measures so that voters can understand them and help them to decide how to vote. For additional forum information call 408-271-7163.

The League of Women Voters is presenting this forum in a non-partisan manner strictly as a means of educating the voting public as to the pro and con arguments.
